The Russians will never accept a "frozen" end to this conflict along the lines of Korea.
They learned their lesson via the facade Minsk accords and realize that the West (US) is never to be trusted....the Russians have no desire to "rule" Ukraine. Putin's goals were clearly stated, however, the ante may have now been raised by Western interference and the increased existential threat posed by NATO.
IMO, Russia will not stop until they reach the Polish and Romanian borders although that wasn't their end game stated in the beginning of the SMO.
