I keep reading scholarly articles that say when a man has to draw and shoot, the necessity usually comes as a surprise and there's only time to react.

How many here think they're going to drop their pistol and put their hands up because somebody's standing 20-25 yards away on the other side of the armed bad guy?

How many here think they're going to see anybody except the armed bad guy?
