I wouldn't blame those who supported him.

A confidence man screws people over by winning their trust and playing on their desire to help others. Safariman is good at what he does. That's not excusing him or his actions, just saying that he's a skilled con man.

I was approached by him once and it was only by a fortuitous coincidence that I did not get taken. But I think he got what he wanted from the person I did deal with, again by playing on someone's good nature for his own selfish purpose.

If one believes in Hell Safariman surely has a special reservation to the lowest level.
