Congrats on your buy! A 1949 99R would have been factory drilled and tapped for scope bases, and would have come from the factory with swivel eyes (not studs). There was a version called a 99RS that came with a Redfield 70LH tang sight and a rear sight blank. $430 sounds like a good price for that gun, the Redfield is probably worth $100 or more alone.
