Years ago, I was stationed at Travis AF Base in Northern California. This photo dates back to 1992. I shot these two blacktail bucks one morning with my Savage .308 and they dropped where they stood. Superb performance!

I never liked bolt action rifles. My Savage model 99 has served me well: very accurate, silent safety, smooth action, good trigger.
