I pulled the fore arm off and the only marking I could find was an L stamped into the front of the reciever,but it could be a poorly stamped T,I looked at it with a magnafying glass and I'm pretty sure it's an L,mabey a 7? it is a Chicopee Falls gun, and has proof tested stamped on the right side of the barrel,300 Savage on top,and Savage 99 on the left,steel butt plate and looks like a black plastic end cap on the pistol grip.the rear sight was removed for a Redfield peep,and the front sight is large and dovetailed in with a bead.
