Thanks Norm, I know, I know! I stole it But I also relieved an idiot of the resposibility of being it's custodian he lost it in pawn . BTW it came in a Eubanks Leather scabbard. I'm still looking to clarify the exact model however. My best guess so far is a transitional 99B due to the 26" barrel and the 'SAVAGE 1899 MODEL' on the receiver. Anybody got an opinion? Anyway, guess I might be afflicted now, thinking of haulin' my black rifle off to the gun show next weekend as potential trade bait, just in case there are any nice 99's to be had. A 250-3000 T/D?....hmm, I know I'd prefer older to newer, kinda like staight grip stocks. No pressed checkering, no detachable clips...
