Hi all, I'm new to this site and am very happy I found it. I was gifted a savage model99 by my father-in-law, which belonged to his father, it has an almost straight butt stock ( end), sm. scope, front forearm slopes up with a small curve on the end. it has no letter designation on it but serial # 549XXX. caliber is 250-3000. I don't care about the value because it will be passed down to my son one day. I was just wondering an approximate date of manufacture or any other info which may be interesting.
