No, it didn't just go off. Baldwin pulled the trigger. And, since it was just a set-up and not during actual filming, Baldwin should not have pulled the trigger.

Yep. Just read that Bullschitt on FOX News. Firearms, especially Single Action Revolvers, don’t JUST GO OFF. You have to cock the hammer and pull the trigger. Only other way for a Single Action Revolver To “go off”, Is if you drop it, and there’s a round under the hammer, that is, if it has no safety transfer bar like a Ruger. Most Colt clones don’t have that feature, though. And then they’re blaming a shadow on the camera angle that caused the two victims to be in the line of Fire. And obviously there was a live round in the gun to shoot through one person and strike another. And it sounds like three other people handled the gun before it was handed to Baldwin.
