But I’m thinking of large scale re-enactments such as is done at major battlefields. I’m sure those guys do pretty good at policing themselves, but I was wondering how much oversight there is from park service people and things like that?
It’s something I’ve always wished I’d had a chance to do, but never had the time or money to get into.

I'm not sure how the private re-enactments work, and I'm sure they are very careful and safety conscious with supervisors in charge.

But in a filming situation, the legalities of insurance alone would prohibit them from making individual decisions...just imagine if a mega star like De Niro, Cruise, Pitt, etc., was killed during filming with no weapon supervision.
