Lamenting the demise of a sociopolitical system that one shared with hundreds of millions isn't evidence for wanting to recreate it.
John Bolton is a warmongering stooge who for obvious reasons can't be considered a reliable source on Putin's state of mind.
Well yes it is evidence and yes Jon Bolton is a warmonger.
I give you a 50% correct rating.
Didn't Putin say, or at least infer, that he wanted to recreate the borders of the former Soviet Union?
No.
Yes.
Putin did “infer” when he said “the disintegration of the Soviet Union was a geopolitical disaster “ and followed that with the Crimea then Georgia and now the Ukraine.
This is a link to the original speech that you two think you're citing, as it's obvious that neither of you have read it.
https://irp.fas.org/news/2005/04/putin042505.htmlAn exert from that speech...... doesn't sound like a murdering Bolshevik to me :
Speaking of justice, I certainly don't mean the infamous system of taking everything from people and dividing it up. I mean opening up wide and equal development opportunities for everyone, success for everyone, a better life for everyone. In the end we must become a free society of free people on the basis of implementing these principles. In this connection it would not be out of place to recall how the aspiration for freedom and justice has shaped Russian society throughout history and how it has matured in the public consciousness.
