NATO put Ukraine up to poking the Russian bear. Russia doesn't suffer defeat without giving it their all. They are not western in their thinking about the value of life. Little known is the crushing defeat Russia put on Japan in August of 1939. Not to mention their absolute crushing of Nazi Germany. In 1945. Japan surrendered probably as much to stave off Russian invasion as because of the Atomic bomb.
Russia has long range rockets and lots of them. The economies and infrastructure of the west will be wrecked if only 6 or 7 get through.
Putin has made overtures to the USA in the past but we rebuffed him. Shame we did not rebuff Zelensky and company as well.
