I would expect that statement from 'behind the counter' salesmen. I expect other caliber rifles are out selling the 06 these days, especially considering the black rifle frenzy.

Just because the 06 is old, it's a long way from obsolescent. (IMO)

I don't disagree with you Jerry. I love the .30-06. My elk rifle is an old tang safety Ruger M77 .30-06. A Tikka T3 Lite .243 has deer duty these days though.
