I was sort of waiting for this thread to die out based on the shear idiocy of the original premise. However, seeing as though the word association thread is still alive and well, albeit in another place, I guess I will weigh in.
I have taken everything from groundhog and coyote up to 275 lb whitetails with the 30-06. I can't say for any one of them I was shooting the exact optimal combination of ballistics versus recoil. However, everything died in a spectacularly effective way. Over the past 40 years , I've lobbed a lot of stuff at a lot of stuff--223 Rem up to 35 Whelen. Along the way I have seen a lot of success and a few failures. What I have not seen is anything run away from a proper hit by a 30-06.
