Farming/Ranching community. Very tight knit. Had a cousin there who was a pretty prominent rancher, but he’s been dead for years. Gov. Briscoe was from Uvalde. As well as John Nance Garner settled and died there. And Dale Evans was born there!!!


I've been to the Hatchery there for work. Would not have minded living around that area.

Just wondering as folks start getting upset, if "Hispanic" even enters the equation given the history of the area and the fact in TX "Hispanics" aren't all immigrants, except when using the term as going back before there was a Texas.

If there had been a couple of million acre National Forests or BLM lands in the area, I'd have probably put in for work there. But, I love my Public Lands. wink
