There it is.
No amount of background checks, licensing, whatever, anything you can name is going to stop someone who wants to kill.

Last person that I'm aware of that could read hearts was Jesus, not some lawyer, not some government official and definitely not some psychologist.
Looks like Schmuck Schumer is pushing a national Red Flag Law. Red Flag Laws skip over that inconvenient little thing we know as Due Process, and allow the police to jump directly to sending a tac team to your home to steal all your guns BEFORE giving you an opportunity to appear in court with an attorney to defend against the charge that you are a danger to society, face your accuser, etc..

In other words, based on just about anybody's out of court assertion that you are a danger, cops can bust in and take your stuff, no warning or chance to oppose the accusation in court first. Requiring a judge to sign off first isn't Due Process and, besides, no judge is going to decline his signature for fear of being identified as the guy who could have stopped a mass murderer, but refused, i.e., he would be under too much political pressure to rubber stamp every request. Due Process requires that you have a chance to oppose the charge BEFORE your rights are violated. Having that chance afterwards isn't Due Process. The damage is already done at that point.

Make sure to call your US Senators and remind them that you fully expect them to defend your Due Process rights under the Constitution, and oppose all Red Flag Laws, which are its negation. The House is a lost cause, so it has to be stopped in the Senate.
