Surely Russia has the armed forces to obliterate Ukraine.
They tripped on their dicks when invading Georgia, and then significantly overhauled their military, but maybe not enough.
Much of the early observation of Russia's inability to take Kyiv questioned whether the oligarchs had redirected much of the military budget to their pockets.
I would have agreed with you at first, but the proof is in the pudding so to speak. At this point, all evidence points to the Russian military having been overestimated.
