They didn’t dismount or engage, they encircled the city while the rest went to the Donbas to get to work. Kiev was a distraction and an almost international disaster considering how frothed up the war mongers were while they salivated over attacking the Russian sitting ducks. Thankfully we didn’t take the bait and after a couple weeks those columns dispersed.

Kiev has over 3 million people in the city and suburbs around it. .

They were a distraction and also used to block major roads down to Crimea and E Ukraine while the real forces secured Crimea and set up for ops in the Donbas .
