While any two animals you can name share a common ancestor (some longer ago than others), present day animals don't evolve into other present day animals. The common ancestor of the beagle and the finch probably lived during the Permian Period, while the common ancestor of the finch and the turkey buzzard probably lived during the Cretaceous Period.
