Not even close. Atheism is nothing more than a lack of conviction in the existence of a God or gods. Anyone of any political persuasions can lack conviction.

Spiritual? Look at the behaviour of theists throughout history. Atheism is nothing more than a lack of conviction where there is a lack of evidence to justify a conviction. It's a reasonable position.
