I could love a .308, no question. In fact I HAVE; I've owned... 4 or 5 of them, currently just have one though.

I think Brad's solution to the whole fuggin' thing- a Kimber Montana in .308, and one in .300 WSM- makes all kinda sense. If I were starting all over and just wanted two rifles, I'd think hard about doing it that way.

I'm not sure that a 220-gn 30 cal is really "the same" as (say) a 225-gn .35 cal, though. Those are quite different bullets there. The .35 really hits hard, has a lot of "smack". The 30-cal 220 is going to penetrate like crazy though, one would think.
