I see the original poster is in Lexington, I live only about an hour away, and travel in and around his area often. There won't be any trouble for him to find 7/08 ammunition.

He can't go wrong either way, but for 200 smackers difference, I would buy the 7/08 every time. It is nearly perfect for whitetails in 99% of Kentucky.
