+1 on the Sako and plus 1 on the .260. This is my third .260 (Sako Model 75 Finnlight) and I love it. That being said, I love my Kimber 7mm-08. I sold my Weatherby .308 Carbine. It was a great shooter, but didn't fit me right.

To opine on the original questions put forth; buy the 7mm-08 and forget the rest. As we all know, bullet placement is the key, everything else is way back.
