I made it just past page 1 and can already tell where this thread is going....I have 2 favorite cartridges. .270 Winchester & .300 Savage. If I could have every firearm in either I would. I have more .30 caliber firearms than anything. You can find .308 on a door step in many small towns. Surplus. Any Gun Shop has it. If you already reload, then why 7mm-08?
Perhaps, you want something different. I did. I just got my first 7mm-08 yesterday. It's a tool that I feel in the firearm I chose (Rem. Model 7 18 1/2") is better than .308. My choice.

By the way, Just picked up my first 7mm-08 yesterday.
