That is a great idea, and I never even thought of it! My rule for 5 wt and up, is the same $$$ on the reel as the rod, or there abouts. I have had 6 pounders on the 5WT Pfleuger reel, and it perfomed very well for me. It is lake fishing, and we are trolling sinking line, so they gotta work. I grew up using the old Alvey reels for salmon, and those things could and would hurt if not tended properly. Makes a Pfleuger look pretty good. Thanks for all the info. I did look at a TFO as well, and it just didn't light my fire. Couldn't even say why. Just didn't feel right. I'll try the Imperials in the lot and then decide. I really didn't think it would be this complicated! blush smile
