What ever works. Better to catch fish then get skunked but I have to say casting a fly rod is never impossible even with no back cast. smile You just have to do a water sustained anchor cast or spey cast. With a spey cast you load the rod on the water so you dont need a back cast. If you can learn these type of cast with a single handed rod then you can fish all kinds of good water people skip right past.
