Usually about 1/2 to 3/4ths of quart will come out of the drain hole very pronounced.
Been doing that for decades also with no ill effects.

YMMV....
But it is what works for me.

Had one vehicle that I would spin a new filter on and fill up with diesel, run for a few minutes and then drain and fill with regular oil and a new filter.
I use that engine flush every 3rd or 4th oil change
Very light like a fuel based liquid
Wally world stuff.
1 qt added to oil cold engine
Run five mins drain

Supposed to dissolve sludge in bottom of pan. clean out journals

Kinda like the diesel way you said.

Rene, 1 qt of diesel added to the oil?
That'll work too.

Or run 1 qt of transmission fluid in place of 1 quart engine oil.

Used to do that on old small blocks with sticky lifters

4 quarts oil and 1 quart transmission fluid. Not just for change time but full time running.

The last time that bear ate a lawyer he had the runs for 33 days!
