Sure was. The biologist who checked him in guessed him at his upper teens to lower 20’s. I never did get an official age but they took a premolar to do so, so I should ask about it.
I have never heard that older bears have white claws, but I guess it could be so. He did have significantly longer claws than the 4-5 year old bears that I have killed, such as that 2nd bear pic as well as the one I got this past year.
Always something to learn….
White Claws? I think those are usually associated with cougars...
