Huntsman, you're right. No slime off of my back for being corrected. The second view shows that it's a pike a lot better. In the first picture I thought I saw a whisker hanging down and there weren't much color to the fish. Kinda looked like a flathead catfish. I got the beaver part right though.
Oh, and since it's a pike there, it's not a close relative.
I'll still claim to be an "expert" just to keep things in the spirit of the illustrious and notorious former fire member who started this thread.
