Just got our mutts home. Went as far south as the redwoods in NoCal. Fishing, hiking, camped every night, etc. Dogs had a lot of fun. However I failed to catch a [bleep] surf perch. This shall not stand.
Favorite coastal town- Port Orford. I gotta do a boat launch/retrieve from there someday. No dock or ramps or or the like; they use big freaking cranes to raise/lower boats. Into the Pacific. This is a cove, located just a bit north of the "crane port", from whence the CG used to launch rescue boats. So that's a .gov concrete buttress you see there to create a really slick entry into the ocean in the foreground.
