We'll see how that turns out.

As to the offensive, defenders always have an advantage over attackers. Remember Pickett's Charge. Or Fredericksburg, for that matter.

The “most” powerful military on earth is now effectively out of 155 shells and can’t even support live fire training in its own units. While the “second most” powerful military in Ukraine fires ten thousand or more a day of its equivalent shells and is churning them out at a rate not seen since WW II.
I thought the Russians ran out of ammo , rockets , and drones May of last year ? Bakmut holds and the Ukrainian offensive is taking back the Crimea as we speak according to our trolls. It would be hilarious if it weren’t for the fact that real people are dying !

This war is going to end up being the greatest defeat in US military history and we aren’t even officially involved.

After this is done, the only way we are going to preserve military power is to drastically reduce the size of the Army, quit trying to be a major land power, and remember that we are a naval and air power. Otherwise it will take the entire defense budget to restock the army and its logistics train. We just can’t do it.

And think about it. If our main enemy in the future is to be China, what do we need a huge army for? We’re never going to invade China. It can’t be done. We need a powerful navy and air force with an expeditionary army along the lines of the late 19th century British Empire. That empire, by the way, bankrupted itself and lost all of it’s possessions when it forgot it wasn’t a land power and fought two world wars on the continent with huge armies.
