The short of it is that the war comes down to Russias resolve to stay in Ukraine Vs. Our governments resolve to keep funding Ukraine. Once our money/weapons get cutoff Ukraine is done.
Russians have always been in the ethnic Russian areas of Ukraine. Those areas are now once again a part of Russia.

They speak Russian, think of themselves as Russian and live in regions that have historically been Russian and it’s why Ukraine was persecuting them. It was ramped up several fold after our government helped run election interference in order to get Zelenskyy into office as a US puppet.
