This war is much different than the Gulf war. The Abrams has too much heat signature and is a fuel hog. (according to Colonel Douglas MacGregor) I don't think the leopards did much better against the Russians. Like all wars, strategies and equipment changes. The Russians have been in complete control of this conflict since the very beginning. They went into Ukraine with a tiny force never intending to take the country. They were hoping for a peaceful settlement that would allow Ukraine to remain neutral but that was never the plan for the administration. it's pretty much all moot now because it is just a matter of time before the Ukrainians either disintegrate or just fade away. They've lost what bargaining power they had.
