Makes sense,..since Russia was expecting to have to go to war against NATO forces.

It's obvious that Ukraine has never had the resources to compete with Russia without huge amounts of support from the U.S. and NATO-- and that support is coming to a close.

Basically, the conflict has been decided. It's just a matter of how Ukraine will be split up. Russia will never relinquish the Donbass region and Crimea. There's also a good chance that Poland will end up with quite a bit.

More than anything, Ukraine has taken a large population hit--both in death from the war and from refugees who will never return to Ukraine.
