The best prep I ever made/did was move to Montana. I would say that at least half the population here is a prepper to one degree or another, probably more. For some, the lifestyle they live, similar to our grandparents, was/is all about common sense prepping for hard times. The other thing is that, seeing as the majority of folks around here are armed and familiar with their firearms, folks tend to behave politely all the time. Funny how that happens. John Gierach said something to the effect that he felt safer in places where bullet holes riddled the highway signs vs the city. Reckon I feel the same. Consider that the entire state's population is just slightly over the population of Pinellas County, Florida.
