"OPTICS: This Roger Stone case and the Barr vs. Trump thing exists to portray Barr as entirely in charge of the DOJ.

We can't have the President influencing the AG now can we? And if/when the hammer drops on certain big name arrests, it cannot be Trump who appears to be in charge. The DOJ must remain 'independent', and what better way to reaffirm that independence than with a public spat regarding an ongoing case? Just like with the previous AG Sessions... Trump must be made to seem quite distant from the decisions of the Attorney General. It's all so transparent... but I guess these people ARE dumb!

edit: It's a classic move, we've seen it before. Look at these two links:

https://time.com/5783007/donald-trump-doj-resignations/

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/...fbi-deputy-director-andrew-mccabe-115251

The corporate media is getting whiplash. They don't know what to cover. Is the DOJ acting on Trumps behalf? Or do they cheer the DOJ for clearing McCabe? Is the DOJ beholden to the Whitehouse? or is Bill Barr running things fairly? Can't have it both ways. Over and over again, the corporate media is manipulated to look inconsistent and incompetent."
