Brainfart. Creedmoor 1874, not 1873, was the big one. The American NRA's first "Annual Matches" were held at Creedmoor on Long Island, NY in 1873. The Irish team was there in 1874 for the first international match. That is why we call that iconic rifle a Sharps 1874 even though it was introduced in 1871. I need some more history lessons.
