How we’ve been doing it for a few decades

Three or four tablespoons of California Chile, New Mexico Chile powder or whatever red chile powder you can get your hands on, tablespoon of cumin, tablespoon each of garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper to taste for two lbs of ground beef browned with onions.

After browning meat and onions toss in spices mix up let cook on med heat until you can smell the Smokey aroma of the chile powder releasing its oils, dump in a cup of hot water and let simmer until the water mostly evaporates and is absorbed by the meat. Stir a few times while it’s simmering to ensure it all gets evenly distributed and incorporated.
