Lamb is like potted meat with a gamey flavor to it.
Tried some lamb one time. Way too much gamey flavor for me. Don't ever care to try it again. Now, I do like barbequed mutton, if it's cooked right.
About 33 years ago, I tried to oven cook a leg of lamb. (I know the year because I had just got married...) That attempt stunk up the apartment I was in so badly I could not bear to eat it. The wife wouldn't touch it either!
I never tried lamb again until this past fall, when we went to a "Brazilian Steakhouse" and they come by with lamb chops. Don't know what came over me, but I tried it. All I can say was it was very good! The wife of course, would not touch it. So to this day, I don't know whether it was the leg I purchased or my cooking technique that soured me to lamb. I will try it again, and hope for the best!
