I roast the tomatillos. While they're roasting, I steep chili's in a pot of hot water until they are soft. Then I put them in the blender. This batch I used one Guajillo chile and a hand full of Chile de Arbol. Some salt, garlic, oh, and half of an onion.

You can make a pretty darn good salsa for tacos, chips etc this way. If you cannot get fresh tomatillos, just used canned.
