Our dedicated ranch rigs have them; I don't see a height issue unless you're like 6'6" or something.
We have a boat paddle 223 that's pretty much lived in one for the past ten or fifteen years, when it wasn't being overheated on prairie dogs or whatever else needed killing.
That reminds me, I should probably run a patch down the barrel one of these years.
