Speaking of hot peppers, years ago I was working on a big multi family project in Santa Barbara CA. We were staying at a house the company had rented for us in a small coastal town (Carpenteria) which had a small manufacturing firm that naturally employed 99% Mexican women who would gather at the city park for lunch. After they had eaten they would coat their lips with salt ( like a margarita glass). When I asked one of the locals what that was all about they told me it was to help neutralize the the hot peppers they had with lunch. I've never seen anything like it before or since but the sight of those old fat mamacitas setting around on the grass yacking and looking like circus clowns was pretty funny. Anybody else ever see that kinda thing.....Fats?.....Cali?
