We used to do the whole deal for branding.

Bunch of us kids for wrasslers, fried chicken and beans, beer, the usual.

Anymore it's just dad and I and someone to push the calves up to the calf table. Takes alot longer but it works better for scheduling around trucks and the weather.


I was talking to another rancher the other day. They are out in the hills over south of Malta. He said they still do the big community branding(s) and had 460 calves done by 11AM.

That would be sweet!

We do it the old fashioned way via bulls.

Sync'd AIing would be nice for calving though. As long as you didn't have a bunch going during a storm, then you'd be [bleep]!
