Perhaps you guys can confirm or deny, but I've heard that the reason for the disappearance of most our wild pheasants (in S Id) is due to everything being irrigated here and, hence, a very early first cutting which takes away the nesting habitat.

Sounds like it may be true. Which sucks cuz I do love pheasant hunting. I just have to pay extra for a WMA permit (like $28 bucks or so for 6 birds) and be out with a million other people all in the same spot.

Not to mention all you retired guys who kill em all during the work week! whistle

They really need to let us thin the gulls...pretty sure they're in no danger of extinction...
