I did happen to put a 250 grain FTX through a mule deer the other day. it was pushed by 2 pellets of 777 from a CVA staghorn topped with a 1x sightron S2. distance when I shot was 82 yards, when he was done sliding down the hill he was 65 yards.
Beware of any old man in a profession where one usually dies young.
