Mid 80's we had tons of meece. The Felton refuge was full of 'em. When I first started deer hunting, I hunted in that area and it was not uncommon to run into a few moose on deer drives. Now there is nuthin. It sucks.
What would MN have to do to bring the moose back? Transplant them?

Rumor has it the population increased from last year to this year. The DNR wasn't sure if they mis-counted last year or the pop. grew. That said, the Bois Forte tribe declined to hunt them this coming fall. So I'm guessing there won't be a hunt for the common folk either. But we can still hope.
