Did you have to bring it in and have it tested for "dead"?
Did they check for a pulse or just touch it's eye with a rifle barrel?
You have to register it first. Pretty sure that confirms death since the organs are missing. Than you call the DNR and provide them with the ear tag numbers and some other boring stuff. DNR will than send someone to your home to pick up the transmitter collar. Probably stick around and have a venny burger if you offer.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Except for bears. Bears kill you.
