One of my son's buddies took a walk to the convenience store after school yesterday. When he didn't come home after 3 hours, his mom called the sheriff. They found him about 9:00pm. He took a shortcut over the bayou and broke through the ice. Never had a chance.
It breaks my heart. He lives just around the corner. Good kid, respectful, smart, athletic, great parents. Don't know what else to say. His name was Carter. He was 14.
I don't know what to say Steve. That is awful. I'm sorry for what you guys are going through and praying for his family and friends. Like others have said...just terrible
