In South Carolina we used to have check in stations for deer killed. They got rid of that ten years or so back. Now we don't have any type of notification required.
When I lived in Georgia the DNR would send each big game license holder a form at the end of the year to fill out and return to them regarding deer kills while hunting.
Back tags??? We have to my recollection never had such here.
