I don't pretend to know anything about these modern chamberings except that one of them, the .223 would not be legal as a big game cartridge in a few states. So, for greater flexibility, all else being equal, you might choose something that is .23 caliber or better.
Just a thought in case you wanted to go to WY for antelope with it.
